				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><strong>Eukarÿs</strong> and <strong>Genethon</strong> have announced a strategic partnership to reduce the cost of gene therapy drugs production. By combining Eukarÿs&rsquo; innovative disruptive C3P3 technology, which enhances unleashes mRNA synthesis in mammalian cells, with Genethon&rsquo;s expertise in AAV vector production, the partnership aims to significantly increase production yields, leading to more affordable and accessible gene therapies.

Eukarÿs&rsquo; C3P3 enzyme can multiply the production yields of all other biomedicines by a factor of 5 to 7. Without requiring any adaptation or investment in new equipment, nor any changes toin existing industrial processes, thus changing the game improving the efficiency of biomanufacturing in biomedicines manufacturing. This collaboration will help accelerate the development of cost-effective gene therapies for patients in need, and contribute to make them accessible to a wider part of the global population.</div>

<p>The paper, entitled <a href="https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-55947-0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">« Rational Design of an Artificial Tethered Enzyme for Non-Templated Post-Transcriptional mRNA Polyadenylation by the Second Generation of the C3P3 System »</a>, introduces the G2 module of the C3P3 enzyme, a significant advancement that enhances the stabilization of mRNA produced by the C3P3 system, thanks to a polyadenylation process.</p>
<p>This breakthrough is part of an international patent family and marks a new phase in the capabilities of the C3P3 enzyme for biotechnology applications. The functionality of the G2 module allows for improved stabilization of mRNA, paving the way for enhanced mRNA-based research and therapeutic opportunities. This positions Eukarÿs at the forefront of innovative scientific solutions to drive the future of mRNA technologies.</p></div>

He also served as deputy CEO of Inria, France&rsquo;s national research institute for computer sciences and technologies, and as special advisor to the president of Eukarÿs from 2020. Filed in 2021, it protects the innovative concept of C3P3-G3, which inhibits the critical phosphorylation of subunit A of the translation initiation factor eIF2 (eIF2a) in cells expressing mRNA synthesized by the C3P3 enzyme. 

By inhibiting a cellular defense mechanism against mRNA produced by the C3P3 enzyme, the G3 module complements the structure of the enzyme and dramatically improves its overall efficiency. </div>

The award was presented on October 24 at the Alexandria Life Sciences Center in New York. 

The award recognizes Eukarÿs&rsquo; partnership with Dr. Maya Shmulevitz&rsquo;s Molecular Virology and Oncology Laboratory at the University of Alberta. Together they developed the C3P3 system for viral bioproduction, focusing on oncolytic reoviruses for cancer therapy. The prize jury, chaired by Bernard Poussot (Chairman of Roche Holding), included senior executives from Sanofi, GSK, Pfizer, Johnson &#038; Johnson, UCB and Evercore Partners.
